Changes - Masses 16/17 and 23/24 January

Numbers limited and masks must be worn
Picture
This weekend (16th/17th January), we see our congregation numbers halved due to the State Government's COVID restrictions which are in place until the 22nd January across the Greater Brisbane Council Areas. Rather than disturb the rosters that have been put into place the decision was made to go with a ‘first come-first in’ method which understandably will cause anguish for some people who either did not know or were not there early enough; we sincerely apologise for this.

Looking forward, any change from the State Government concerning the restrictions will not be made public until the morning of Friday the 22nd giving us very little time to act so we have decided to continue this method through for the weekend of the 23/24 January.

There have been a few suggestions that we put chairs outside the church for the overflow, sadly this is not a consideration as this would not comply with the nature of our single gathering.

The other restriction that is currently in place is that masks must be worn during Mass by everyone in attendance** (and when entering and leaving the church).  The priest is also required to wear a mask upon entering and exiting the Church.

We ask for your prayers for an outcome that will see us return to celebrating Eucharist as a community as soon as possible.  In the meantime though, keep safe wear a mask and underneath SMILE.......

** Children under 12 years and people affected by a medical condition or disability are exempt.

REGISTER TO ATTEND MASS
We have six Masses with the number of people attending relative to the size of our Church buildings: 77 at Little Flower, 66 at St Peter’s, 38 at St Mary’s, and 28 at St Michael’s. Unfortunately, we have not been able to gather in Beachmere, but we look forward to when we are able to do so. Also, we cannot fit 100 people in any of our Church buildings, while holding onto the 1.5 metre requirement of distance between people. However, we can now sing! We no longer have to simply hum along! Also, we will be able to have up to 100 people for funerals.

Weekend Mass Times

Please refer to our latest Parish Bulletin for weekday Mass times.
